MAY into JUNE and beyond

It is May and soon June, time flies by...

We had so much fun in Hawaii...hubby and I spent 3 weeks with our youngest son...it was going on 3 yrs this summer since we saw him...my bad! Too long and never again!!

Posted an album on Facebook if you want to see it!!

SO here is a little about him...in 2006 he moved to Hawaii because he had a job opportunity and he was only 23... I said... Why not?! GO my little grasshopper...see what the islands have to offer...

He explored the island for a couple months before starting his new job and Paradise turns out to be his cup of tea so to speak.

He hiked every day up Diamond Head, he biked everyday and even starting running 6 miles a day...he developed those abs you see on TV!!

Fast forward to Nov. 4th 2006, we received a frantic and hysterical call from our daughter...her baby brother, our baby boy, had just been in a terrible motorcycle accident...could we be any farther away!! For the next several hours I was on the phone with doctors in Hawaii, nurses, and even my son!! He was losing so much blood and longer story short, after many hours in ER the doctor decided he had to amputate to save his life...

My son being 23, and an adult had to make the decision and sign the form for amputation...I will NEVER EVER forget that moment on the phone with him...he was crying in pain and confusion...and so scared...and so alone...no family...well that turned out to be not true...everyone he had met in Hawaii in those short 9 months, came to the hospital immediately and there they stayed for days...that is the kind of friendships he developed...
Ohana ...means family in Hawaiian and all of them are to this day...family.

I thank GOD everyday for sparing his life, for Dr Chang the doctor.

I am SO proud of our son...it has been a long and hard struggle...he handled it with such grace and humility...

He is back to surfing, hiking, biking and even running...he is such an inspiration and I am so humbled and SO blessed to be able to say "That young man there, well he's my son...and he is my hero"

FYI...I also have 2 other adult "kids"...they are also pretty amazing...
Hard working, fun, caring, wonderful awesome people...another son(middle) and a daughter(big sister)...
We celebrate Mother's Day in May but I celebrate it everyday...

Well anyway, thanks for stopping by and hug your kids no matter how old they are!!
